If you've discovered a swarm of honey bees on your property, Clover House can help with safe collection and relocation.

Swarming is a natural part of the honey bee's lifecycle. Although a large cluster of bees can look alarming, swarms are often simply a colony searching for a new home.

Please don't spray, disturb or attempt to remove the bees yourself. Keep people and pets away and call 022 018 6362 to discuss the swarm.

What does a swarm look like?

A swarm is usually a large cluster of honey bees gathered together, often around a queen. They can temporarily settle on trees, fences, hedges, sheds, roofs and other sheltered areas while scout bees search for a permanent home.

If you're unsure whether you've found a honey bee swarm, give us a call. A photo from a safe distance can also be helpful.

Safe Bee Swarm Collection

The collection method depends on where the swarm has settled. Where possible, we aim to carefully collect and relocate honey bee swarms, giving the bees the opportunity to establish a new colony.

If the bees have already established themselves inside a wall, roof or other cavity, a different approach may be required.
